MSTK is the electronic music project by Alessandro Guarnerio. Alessandro, born ’86, comes from Legnano, a city nearby Milan. In 2008 he moved to Bologna for his university studies in Music at the department of Drama, Art and Music Studies. He has been involved in several post-rock and shoegaze projects but it’s only in 2009 that he starts to dig into electronic music and club culture and get confident producing music. His music is based on the use of Ableton combined with various analoug synth. His productions space from hip hop beats to house mixed with shoegaze influences and vintage instruments. He is one of the founders and active members of AliveLab, a collective based on a common passion for the electronic scene, and that’s when he took his first steps into djing and live visual performances. In 2010 he released his first tracks as a producer and he started to perform regularly as a vj in most of clubs in Bologna and surroundings. In 2011, together with AliveLab collective, he’s a part of the management and artistic production of Homework Festival vol.9, a well known festival oriented to electronic music, new hip hop beats and future funk run by an historical Italian netlabel, Homewrok Records.
